There are two kinds of belly fat; visceral and subcutaneous fat, but today we’d be talking about Visceral fat which is the kind of fat that surrounds the organs in the abdomen.

But first, it won’t be out of place to let you in on some little-known causes of stomach fat in the first place. Besides the obvious ‘eating too much’, there a couple of other reasons you might be having stomach fat problems. Belly fat releases hormones that can lead to type 2 diabetes, heart conditions, malnutrition, illness and other health problems. Just so you know, Excess visceral fat is more harmful than excess subcutaneous fat. But generally, Belly fat is more than a nuisance that makes your clothes feel tight.

– Eliminate sugary drinks and alcohol: Soft drinks are packed with liquid fructose (sugar), which can easily cause belly fat. Soft drinks are said to be even worst than high-sugar foods because they are quicker to digest and easier consume more. Taking in excess sugar seems to be a main driver of weight gain, especially in the abdominal area. And according to an article by Medical News Today published on the 4th of June,2020, high sugar intake will increase the level of visceral fat by promoting insulin and spurring inflammation throughout the body. To lose the belly fat, you’ll have to, as much as possible, avoid soft drinks including diet sodas. Same goes for alcohol. Research suggests that too much alcohol can also make you gain belly fat. Cutting back on alcohol may help reduce your waist size.

 

– Eat more fruits and vegetables: Fruits and vegetables can provide complex carbohydrates, which are a healthful, low calorie alternative to refined carbohydrates. Fruits and vegetables also add fiber to the diet. So to get rid of that fat try drinking fruit juice but be aware that fruits juices are also just disguised sugary drinks and frequent drinking of fruit juice can also lead to an increase in belly fat. So the safe way is to eat fruits instead.
