According to an article by health line which was published on the 10th of August, 2021 Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or autism refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication.

ASD is found in people around the world, regardless of race and ethnicity, culture, or economic background. So I’d be sharing with you four signs of Autism.

Signs of Autism

1. Problems with communication and social interaction: They always tend to have issues communicating or even maintaining a conversation. I have a friend who is autistic and it’s very hard to maintain a conversation, even trying to maintain eye contact is always difficult for autistic people and because of this, they tend not to be involved in relationships or have social interactions and are always secluded in their own space.

2. Restricted or repetitive patterns of behavior or activities: According to an article by health line published on the 10th of August, 2021, autistic people have repeated routines in their daily life. They have repetitive behaviors and patterns. They also have an increase or decrease in sensitivity to specific informations and this can be from their surroundings or even sounds.

3. Hyperfocus: Adults and children with autism can focus intently on things they enjoy or find interesting hence ability to hyperfocus. But they struggle to pay attention to tasks that bore them. They tend to put off tasks that are important but they find it boring and fixate their interests on a particular thing they find interesting. For example, an autistic person might find joy in inventing something, now during that time, all their attention is on what they’re making, nothing else seems interesting to them. For this point, people with autism cannot multitask.

4. Distractions and Outbursts: According to an article by medicine net which was published on the 9th of October,2019 Autistic people have trouble prioritizing, starting, and finishing tasks. They tend to be disorganized, restless, easily distracted even having trouble concentrating while reading. The inability to stay focused and follow through on tasks can derail careers, ambitions, and relationships. People with autism when they have outbursts always have problems with self-control. This can lead to difficulty controlling anger, Impulsive behaviors or blurting out rude or insulting thoughts.
