The Gunners boss believes he has enough firepower at his disposal to avoid dipping back into the transfer market when the summer window opens

Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal have no need to dip into the summer transfer market for another striker.

The Gunners have spent big bolstering their attacking ranks during the last two windows.

Alexandre Lacazette was acquired for £46 million in 2017, before Arsenal invested another club-record fee in £55m man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January.

Wenger also has England international forward Danny Welbeck on his books, as well as Alex Iwobi and an exciting crop of academy graduates.

Taking that into account, the long-serving Frenchman is not expecting to bring any more goal-getters onto his books.

He said after Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Southampton in which Aubameyang and Welbeck found the target: “We have a good side.

“Overall, in some aspects of the game there is no need to buy more players at that level, because we have young strikers as well, promising strikers.

“But we’ll see at the end of the season.”

Lacazette is Arsenal’s top scorer in 2017-18 with 12 efforts to his name.

Aubameyang has plundered six goals in eight appearances, while Welbeck has taken his tally to nine with a dramatic double against the Saints.

The Gunners have also seen midfield stars contribute in the final third, with Aaron Ramsey netting on eight occasions to date and Mesut Ozil five times.

Those efforts have not been enough to keep the club in contention for a top-four finish, but Champions League qualification could still be secured through a Europa League triumph.
