Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said on Wednesday he has submitted to parliament a motion for his internationally-respected finance minister to be dismissed.
Finance minister Oleksandr Danylyuk, a respected reformer backed by the International Monetary Fund, has ruffled many feathers as he seeks to clean up the ex-Soviet country’s fiscal and customs services.
In a post on Facebook, Groysman accused Danylyuk of distributing “distorted information among our international partners.”
The sacking of the 42-year-old finance minister — which needs to be approved by Ukraine’s parliament — would raise concern among the country’s foreign donors.
