The title is a nod to the word “murder” spelled backward, simultaneously paying homage to the 1980 horror classic, The Shining, which initially coined the term. On top of this, the outro samples an infamous scene from the movie, further conveying the murderous theme. During the tracking week ending January 27, 2024, the song debited at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track marks 21 Savage’s highest charting solo song.
