#Transfer: Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi To Become Highest Paid Teenager In England

Chelsea have made a final, last-ditch attempt to keep Callum Hudson-Odoi by offering him a contract that would make him the highest paid teenager in the Premier League. The 18-year-old has been the subject of four transfer bids from Bayern Munich, the latest of which reached £35million, though Chelsea are desperate to keep him. But Hudson-Odoi has been stalling over signing a new contract and club bosses are conscious of the fact that he can leave for nothing when his current deal expires in just 18 months.

Now the Mirror report that Chelsea have made one last offer to convince Hudson-Odoi to stay at Stamford Bridge, offering him a £70,000-a-week contract. The deal would make him the highest paid teenager in Chelsea’s history, and one of the highest paid in Europe, despite having yet to start a Premier League match.

Hudson-Odoi would take home a basic £50,000-a-week salary plus £20,000-a-week in add-ons. However, despite Bayern’s offer being considerably less lucrative, Hudson-Odoi still feels his best chance of getting more first-team football is at the Allianz Arena.

His priority is developing as a player, not money, and feels his progress is being stunted at Chelsea, having played just 51 minutes in the Premier League all season. He has seen England youth teammates Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson get regular football with Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim respectively and will need assurances from Chelsea over playing time to be convinced to sign the mammoth deal on the table.
