Exciting Amiens youngster Noam Emeran appears to have confirmed that he will join Manchester United imminently despite significant interest from Juventus and PSG. Reports emerged at the end of last year that United were trying to wrap up a deal for the talented 16-year-old, who has frequently impressed scouts while playing for the French club’s youth teams. Now the teenager has revealed that he has opted to move to Old Trafford, with United expected to pay a compensation fee of up to £88k and the deal set to go through by the end of the month.
Speaking to local newspaper Le Courrier Picard, Emeran said: ‘After talking to my family, I think it was the best choice over what I was offered to help reach the top level. ‘Now it’s up to me to do the job to achieve my goals and dreams.’
Emeran was most recently in action in the Coupe Gambardella, a youth tournament in France, though Amiens were knocked out despite the youngster netting a hat-trick. He says he models his game on the likes of Neymar, Leroy Sane and United star Anthony Martial, playing off the left wing.
‘I have no model player in the [Amiens] first-team, but I really like the style of Gael Kakuta. More generally, I admire Leroy Sane,’ he told Amiens’ official website last year. ‘My ambition is to be able to be professionally one day and to win titles, but school remains the most important thing for now If there is no school, there is no football.’ Emeran will have a compatriot in United’s academy in the form of Aliou Traore, who similarly arrived from Ligue 1 champions PSG a year ago.
