Over the years we’ve seen a friendship and relationship like none between the two rappers. Unlike other artists who mostly start as friends but grow into competitors. Olamide and Phyno have shown that even as rappers it is possible to main a healthy relationship while both gunning for the top. They have also done this by not just being friends outside the industry but by continually working together on both singles and albums. This week we spotlight out favourite songs of the two rappers together.
No. 4. Ghost Mode – Phyno feat. Olamide: Released in 2012 and also part of the album “No Guts, No Glory” by phyno. The song itself was produced by Phyno and features Olamide. Its official video has over 1.1 million views on youtube. The song marked the beginning of Olamide and Phyno’s musical relationship has it was their first collaboration.
In 2014 Phyno and olamide started recording what would be known as one of the biggest collaborative albums in Nigeria. By 2015 they released the album titled “2 Kings” under both of their labels. Penthouse and YBNL. The album featured vocals/Verses from Wizkid, Storm Rex and Lil Kesh.
No. 3. God Be With Us – Olamide & Phyno: Off the “2 Kings” Album. Produced by Major Banks and released as the 5th track off the album. Written by both Olamide and Phyno.
No. 2. Somebody – Olamide feat. Phyno: Off Olamide’s most recent project; “UY Scuti” the album. The song peaked at no 79 on Apple Music Nigeria for the 20th of July, 2021.
Bonus. Onyeoma – Phyno feat. Olamide: Produced by pheelz and released in 2018. Over 2.8 million views on youtube.
No. 1. Fada Fada – Phyno feat. Olamide. Released in 2016 and produced by masterkraft. This is another smashing hit from both rappers. Its official video has over 27milliom views and still counting. This arguably one of their biggest songs together, it has been tagged timeless as it still remains relevant in parties and club and is still considered a hit even in current times.
