This week, we take the turn into the world of love and focus on songs dedicated to wives by artists. There are definitely a lot of songs that are “wife” themed but we have carefully selected our top four and we’d be sharing them with you today.

 

No 4 – Golibe by Flavor
Chinedu Okoli, better known by his stage name Flavour N’abania or simply Flavour, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He began his musical career as a drummer for a local church. Flavour is popularly known across Africa and the world for his hit song “Nwa Baby”.

The 2014 song is off the “Thankful” Album and is classified Alternative. The video was directed by Clarence Peters.

 

No 3 – My wife by Joe Praize
Joseph Omo Ebhodaghe, (born June 20, 1979), popularly known as Joe Praize, is a Nigerian gospel singer, praise and worship leader, songwriter and music director who rose to popularity following the release of his hit song “Mighty God” off his debut album My Praise. “My wife” was Released in 2015,  it is a Gospel wedding Song by Joe Praize. It is off the album “Most High”

 

No 2 – Wifey by Next
Next is an American R&B musical trio, popular during the late 1990s and early 2000s. They are best known for their number-one hit single “Too Close”, which became the most successful song of 1998 in the United States, as well as for “Wifey” and “I Still Love You”, all of which all still receive frequent airplay on Urban Adult Contemporary radio stations both in the U.S. and internationally.

Released in 2000 off the Welcome II Nextasy Album.   It was written by Eddie Berkeley, Keir Gist, band member Robert “RL” Huggar, and singer Lil’ Mo for the group’s second studio album Welcome II Nextasy (2000). The song was released as the album’s lead single on May 16, 2000. A major success, “Wifey” peaked at number one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, while reaching number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.

No 1 – Wifey by BOJ feat. Dammy Crane
Boj is the stage name for Nigerian singer Bolaji Ojudokan. Boj studied Audio Engineering and is considered to have quite a different sound from mainstream pop. In 2013, Boj released a mictape #BOTM (Boj on the Microphone) which pushed him to limelight.

Wifey was Released in 2014 and features vocals from Dammy Krane. Song was produced by Studiomagic and was recorded the year before.
