Riley Horner, from Illinois, US, suffered a major brain injury when she was kicked in the head at a dance
Doctors are baffled by the case of 16-year-old Riley Horner, whose memory ‘resets’ every two hours.
Riley, from Illinois, US, says her amnesia has left her terrified as she can no longer make any new memories.
She told WQAD : “People just don’t understand, it’s like a movie. I will have no recollection of this (the interview) come supper time.
The talented cheerleader lost her memory after a crowd surfing student accidentally kicked her in the head at a dance on June 11, news.com.au reports.
Riley’s mum Sarah has been sharing frequent updates on her daughter’s condition on Facebook .
“Today at Physical Therapy didn’t go well, they asked her to raise her left leg maybe five inches off the table and she started shaking uncontrollably again. Every time they would try something her body would just shake.”
In another post, Sarah, who also has two boys, said: “Riley is pretty much still the same. No memory and we are noticing way more fatigue.”
The youngster now jots things down in a notebook and takes pictures with her phone to jog remind her of things after her memory ‘resets’.
