Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Wife And Son Escape Assassination Attempt In Their Home

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, his wife, and son escaped an assassination attempt in the early hours of Tuesday. According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Uche Anichukwu, the incident occurred at about 4am on Tuesday at their Apo Quarters residence in Abuja.

The armed men were said to have evaded the security and entered the Deputy Senate President’s home, reports  Channels Television. One of those, who broke into Ekweremadu’s home was, however, arrested.

According to Anichukwu, the arrested member of the gang refused to divulge any information on the operation. He has, however, been handed over to the police.
