Maurizio Sarri blocked Chelsea‘s move for Lyon attacker Nabil Fekir this month, it has been claimed.
The Sun says Chelsea had the opportunity to bring him to Stamford Bridge, but it was Sarri who decided against it.
The snub will undoubtedly come as a disappointment to Fekir, as it is the second Premier League club that opted against bringing him on board.
Fekir was on the verge of signing for Liverpool, before the Reds pulled out of the deal when their medical team discovered a niggle with his knee.
And as he looked poised to sign for Sarri’s side, the Italian opted against signing the forward despite wanting to bolster his attack.
Lyon met with the Chelsea hierarchy to discuss a move for the 25-year-old French international, but when it became clear they were holding onto several of their important attacking players they ceased negotiations.
