Today on the artist of the week we spotlight two Super middleweight champions who have carried the industry on their back for some time now. Though one of them took a break for a while, his return and comparisons with the other has prompted us to checkmate who actually has more hits.

Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel (born 23 March 1994), known professionally as Mayorkun, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and pianist. He released a cover of Davido’s “The Money” single and was discovered by the singer on Twitter. Mayorkun signed with Davido’s record label Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) in 2016; his debut single “Eleko” was released under the label. Mayorkun released his debut studio album The Mayor of Lagos in November 2018.

Keshinro Ololade (born March 17, 1994), known professionally as Lil Kesh, is a Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter. He is one of the biggest and most influential artists in Africa. He rose to fame after releasing the hit single “Shoki” His career in music began in 2012, He released “Lyrically”, a single which became popular at universities in Nigeria.After signing with YBNL, In 2015 he was nominated for Best New Act at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Lil Kesh later moved on to establishing his own record label YAGI Records (an acronym for “Young And Gettin It”) after his first studio album “yagi” was released under ybnl.
No. 4. Eleko – Mayorkun: Produced by Pufftee and released in 2016, the song became the anthem and announcer of Mayorkun’s entrance into the musical scene. With over 7.7 million views on youtube for the official video and 105k views for the official audio the song has surpassed the test of time and proven to be a hit!
No. 3. Shoki (remix) – Lil kesh feat. Davido and Olamide: Released in 2014 and produced by Major Bangz. The original song was widely accepted and the remix was the final wave needed for lil kesh to be crowned king of the new school flows. It featured two industry heavyweight(His then label boss olamide and DMW boss Davido). Its video has over 13million views om youtube and 919k views on the original video.
