We’re still not entirely sure what to think of this whole Nicki Minaj and Eminem thing.
Last week, when a fan asked whether the two were dating, the ‘Chun-Li’ rapper said yes, and everyone went into the sort of shock that only a bit of celebrity gossip can create.
Slim Shady had remained quiet on social media since the big reveal, however, at a performance in Boston he asked the crowd whether they were keen on their relationship and unsurprisingly they all cheered.
After being tagged in the video, Nicki has responded on Twitter, saying: “The fact that he’s silly & a goof just like me. Love him so much. Em we need you on the #Queen album. That’s where our 1st date will be; at the studio while I gaze into ur beautiful eyes as u write ur verse.”
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The fact that he’s silly & a goof just like me?. Love him so much. Em we need you on the #Queen album. That’s where our 1st date will be; at the studio while I gaze into ur beautiful eyes as u write ur verse. ????? https://t.co/iFYi0OlzXQ

This kind of plays into the theory that their ‘relationship’ is a sham (gasp) and they’re just trying to promote Nicki Minaj’s new album.
Surely, you’d think, if they were dating then they would have been on a date already and Nicki wouldn’t be dreaming up her ideal sit down with the rap legend.
Fans only questioned whether they were seeing each other after Nicki teased her new song ‘Big Bank’ with YG, 2 Chainz and Big Sean, as the lyrics say: “Uh oh/Back again/Back to back Maybach, stack the M’s/Told em’ I met Slim Shady, bag the M/Once he go black, he’ll be back again.”
And that was off the back of Eminem singing on ‘Fast Lane’ from Bad Meets Evil: “Let me tell you what this pretty little dame’s name is/’Cause she’s kinda famous/I hope that I don’t sound too heinous when I say this/Nicki Minaj, but I wanna stick my penis in your anus.”
So it’s not hard to see why people thought it could be a thing.
People were quick to point out that if the rumours were true then it would likely be devastating to Drake – who’s professed his love for Nicki in the past.
The ‘God’s Plan’ rapper told MTV2 in 2010: “I saw Nicki for the first time and, like, literally fell in love. I’ve always really, actually, really had a crush on her, always really loved her, and she’s always just looked at me as, like, her little brother.”
Fans even speculated that Drake would drop a song to express his heartbreak and coincidentally he released a track called ‘I’m Upset’ yesterday. The lyrics definitely refer to a woman; whether that’s Nicki is yet to be seen.
