Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra featured on Vogue magazine’s first digital cover. The couple, who got married on Saturday in a Western, Christian wedding ceremony performed by Nick Jonas’ dad in Priyanka’s native India, looked so in love on the cover filmed by Steven Brahms before their wedding.
Just after they exchanged vows, Vogue released its first digital cover, for its January 2019 issue. The cover is an animated image of Nick and Priyanka staring lovingly into each other’s eyes, holding hands and leaning in for a kiss.
The lovebirds also appear on a second digital Vogue cover, shot by Annie Leibovitz.
The couple plan to have a Hindu ceremony later this weekend.
Speaking on how they met, Nick said that the first time he met Priyanka Chopra, he got down on one knee. The encounter took place at the Vanity Fair Oscars party last year, Jonas narrated to Vanity Fair’s Abby Aguirre.
Jonas was hanging out at the bar when he noticed Chopra breezing through, in a long black sequined Michael Kors Collection dress.
He said:
And I put my drink down, get on one knee—this is in front of a bunch of people—and I say, ‘You’re real. Where have you been all my life?’ Like, loud.
Nick and Priyanka were not perfect strangers. They’d been texting each other for months before that.
Though Chopra had a car waiting and a flight to India to catch that same day, that didn’t stop Jonas from suggesting a drink.
He recalled:
I looked at Anj (her manager, Anjula Acharia),
Chopra adds.
And I said, ‘Five minutes.’
Almost a year and a half later, Nick Jonas proposed for real.
Priyanka Chopra said she can pinpoint the moment she felt a subtle shift in her feelings for Nick Jonas.
She was on a date in L.A. with Jonas and he said, “I love the way you look at the world. I love the drive you have.”
Chopra added: “As a girl, I’ve never had a guy tell me, ‘I like your ambition,’ It’s always been the opposite.”
