Na’Abba, Agbakoba Chair People’s Trust Presidential Campaign Council

The People’s Trust has named a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’Abba, as the chairman of its Presidential Campaign Council for the February 16 election.

The party’s National Secretary, Nasir Kura, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Thursday.

Na’Abba had recently resigned his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

According to the statement, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), who is also the party’s National chairman will serve as the council’s co-chairman.

The statement added that a former Minister of Transport, Alhaji Aliya Fari, will serve as the Director-General of the campaign council and will be assisted by three Deputy Directors-General.

They are the Director-General of the National Intervention Movement, Olawale Okunniyi; Dr Dale Ogunbayo and a former presidential aspirant on the platform of the ADP, Mathias Tsado.

The statement added, “The campaign Council has three co-Vice Chairmen-Dr Abduljhalil Tafawa Balewa; Funke Awolowo and Dr Ojay Samuel.

“Other notable Nigerians in the 90-member council are the party’s National Secretary, Nasiru Kura from the North West as party representative; Dr Segun Obe from the South West; women leader from the   North Central, Mrs Ajoh Torkwase, youth leader, Mr.Abayomi Mighty; Anthony Akika; and Mrs Temidola Job.

“Others are Ibuchukwu Ezike; Dr Ossagie Obayuwana; Alhaji Shehu Sambo; Chief of Staff to the PT’s presidential candidate,Mr Kamal Adebayo; the Deputy Chief of Staff, Daniella Dan Suleiman; the Chief Press Secretary, Hassan Ibrahim, all state chairpersons of the party ,all state Campaign coordinators and Allied Presidential candidates/ aspirants from the six geopolitical zones .”
