Meghan sported a modest headscarf this afternoon as she and Prince Harry visited the oldest mosque in South Africa.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex held hands as they met with faith leaders before entering the Auwal Mosque, in Bo-Kaap, Cape Town.
They had both undergone a clothing change, with Meghan sporting a long green dress, while Harry wore a light grey suit. Both of them removed their shoes before stepping into the mosque and sitting on the carpet inside.
The Auwal Mosque was built in 1794 under British occupation of the Cape of Good Hope and contains the first known manuscript of the Quran in South Africa.
uthorities say it was written down from memory by an imam while he was imprisoned on nearby Robben Island.
Harry and Meghan were treated to a tour with Imam Sheikh Ismail Londt and Muslim community leader, Mohamed Groenwald.
