A man suffered a painful blow to the body after he attempted to forcefully remove APC flag from Governor Ortom’s car.
A trending video has emerged showing the moment a man was given a punch by a police officer as he tried to remove the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue governor, Samuel Ortom’s official vehicle. This happened earlier today as Benue youths numbering over 300 stopped the governor from meeting APC members at National Executive Committee (NEC) in Abuja.
While the man was trying to remove the APC flag, a police officer was seen trying to stop him but he continued dragging the flag. This prompted the police officer to punch him as he wanted to descend on him but was restrained by his colleagues.
Ortom who defected today to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) – was schedule to meet the party leaders and discuss his grievances with the APC leader in Benue State, Senator George Akume.
The governor had claimed last week that he was given a red card by APC in Benue.
Base on the allegation, the party’s NEC invited Ortom and Akume to Abuja for reconciliation.
While Governor Ortom and his convoy were moving out of the Government House for Abuja, youths under the aegis of Collation of Benue Youths (CBY) led by Pastor Dave Ogbole blocked him with placards.
The youths also blocked the road leading to the Government House. The persistent protesters later removed the APC flag on the governor’s official vehicle.
