Leicester City Manager Rodgers Heaps Praises On Ndidi

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has commended Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi for his impressive performance in the team’s 4-0 loss against Liverpool in Sunday’s Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium.

The Nigerian international, who was making his 18 league appearance for the Foxes, played the entire 90 minutes but could not stop the Reds from running riot.

A brace from Roberto Firmino plus additional strikes from James Milner and Trent Alexander-Arnold condemned the hosts to their fourth loss of the campaign.

But despite the loss, Ndidi’s performance stood out, and that drew praises from Rodgers.  The former Liverpool manager described Ndidi’s work rate as fantastic in an interview with Skysports.

“We couldn’t feed Jamie with any pass or any quality of pass, so that’s the big frustration of the evening.

“Wilfred Ndidi was fantastic throughout – fighting, running, working, getting on the ball – but we just didn’t have long enough periods with it.

“So like I said when you don’t against a top team like I said before they are world champions and of course it becomes difficult for you.”

Leicester’s will hope to bounce back when they travel to London Stadium to face West Ham on Saturday.
