The Provost of the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Professor Babatunde Akibu Solagberu has been suspended for financial impropriety. According to a report by BlackBox Nigeria, the management of Lagos State University ordered the IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION of the erstwhile Provost of its College of Medicine which is situated in Ikeja from office in connection with several infractions by the Provost against the rules and regulations of the University, mostly bordering on financial improprieties and administrative misadventures.
Babatunde Solagberu, a Professor of Orthopedic surgery was appointed Provost in February 2016. Already, an acting Provost has been appointed in line with the laws governing the institution. Professor Antonia Okeoghene Ogbera, who before now was the Deputy Provost has been appointed to take over IMMEDIATELY. Mrs Ogbera is a Professor of Medicine and Consultant Physician Endocrinologist.
