The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has said that the ongoing NASU strike won’t stop 2018 UTME from holding in March 2018

In spite of the ongoing strike of the non-academic staff of universities, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has concluded plans to conduct 2018 UTME.

Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Board’s Head of Media and Public Relations in a statement released on Sunday, February 18, 2018, clarified that JAMB would respect the decision of the non-teaching staff and go ahead with the examination as scheduled.

The Statement reads in part:

“The attention of the board has been drawn to the release by NAN on the board’s mock examination slated for February 26, 2018, where I was quoted to have said the board will go on with the mock examination irrespective of the ongoing strike by the non-academic unions of universities nationwide.

“First, the board wants to appreciate the unions for the support it has given the board in the successes of previous examinations and sympathized with the unions over the present predicaments,”

NASU  refuses to cooperate with management on admission processes

Meanwhile, Samson Ugwoke, the Chairman of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the non-academic staff had said that the union would not cooperate with ongoing admission processes in the nation’s universities as long as the union’s strike subsists.
