INEC puts an end to speculation over Rivers office fire incident

After the fire incident which left the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Oyigbo Local Government Area Of Rivers State, gutted, the commission has now put an end to the speculations surrounding it.

 

According to news reports, the Electoral Commissioner in the state, Obo Effanga, stated that the fire had been as a result of an electrical malfunction.

He said this during a telephone interview with Punch, in a bid to put an end to the speculations that fire had been the work of arsonists.

Effanga said that the incident was nothing to worry about, explaining that the situation is now under control.
