The image of a man who is suspected to have been the culprit of the plastic bottle thrown at Dele Alli during the Carabao Cup match between Tottenham and Arsenal, has been released.
In the 73rd minute of the match which Tottenham ran out 2-0 winners, Dele Alli was strucked with a plastic bottle thrown from the stands.
The police is hoping that information from the public will help them identify who the man in the image is.
Jonathan Fryar, who is leading the investigation, said:
“This was a disrespectful act which showed complete disregard for both the players and the fans wishing to enjoy a peaceful match.
“The incident is being taken seriously and we have been working closely with Arsenal Football Club to thoroughly investigate.”
Dele Alli ended up scoring in the encounter and did a hand gesture indicating the score line towards the crowd.
According to a tweet he shared, the incident made his goal “sweeter”.
