BBNaija reality TV show host, Ebuka Uchendu has reacted to the news of Kevin Hart stepping down as host of next year’s Oscars. He reacted by apologizing for his past tweets which might prevent him from future jobs as a show host.
This he did after a Twitter user asked that the Oscars show host job should be given to him.
The Twitter user wrote: ”Now that Kevin Hart has stepped down as 2019 Oscars host, can they call Ebuka to do the job?”
Ebuka replied: ”I just want to apologize for all my previous tweets in advance.”
Kevin Hart stepped down due to pressure over his 2009 statement which many found to be homophobic. The actor has however apologized to the LGBTQ community as he announced his stepping down.
I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.
I’m sorry that I hurt people.. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again,” he said.
