A nurse at Gwanda Provincial Hospital allegedly used a latex glove to rape his maid and the sheath remained stuck in the complainant’s vagina.
The complainant took the glove to hospital as evidence that she was raped by her employer Ngonidzashe Pardon Tshuma who is a nurse. Tshuma paid $100 bail after appearing before Gwanda magistrate Nomagugu Ncube.
Allegations are that Tshuma wanted to rape the complainant when they were at home alone but did not have a condom. He then took a latex glove and used it as protection but the sheath remained stuck in the complainant’s vagina after the act.
She allegedly removed the latex on her own and resigned the next day before heading for her rural home in Mberengwa.
It is the State case that Tshuma who resides in TB Jahunda, Gwanda started admiring the complainant’s plaited hair on October 5, 2018 at around 8am when they were having breakfast. He allegedly patted the complainant’s hair who responded by pushing him away.
The accused allegedly tried his luck again at 11am when he tightly grabbed the complainant.
At around 1pm Tshuma allegedly followed the maid into the bedroom where she was looking for a mop. He got hold of her waist forcing her down on her knees before lifting her onto the bed. He allegedly raped her once using a glove as protection which was left stuck in the vagina.
In Mberengwa the complainant narrated the case to her brother who then accompanied her to the Police. She was sent to hospital for medical examination and took with her the latex glove that her employer used on her.
Tshuma was remanded to October 23, 2018 on $100 bail. He is being represented by McAlister Ncube of Mabikwa and Partners.
Takunda Mafudze prosecuted.
