Hailey Baldwin calls out trolls who are “downplaying” Justin Bieber’s Lyme disease diagnosis

While the internet was spiralling yesterday over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s shocking choice to step back from their senior royal duties, you may have missed that one of your favourite pop stars — Justin Bieber — also shared something big with the world.

He let his fans know that he was recently diagnosed with Lyme disease and chronic mono.

Justin shared the news on Instagram, revealing that he’s been dealing with the disease in private for a while and explaining that it’s the reason why people have criticised his looks a lot lately.

“While a lot of people kept saying Justin Bieber looks like shit, on meth, etc., they failed to realise I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono, which affected my skin, brain function, energy, and overall health,” he wrote.

Justin also added that he will provide his fans with more information on his diagnosis in the YouTube docuseries that he’s been teasing, saying, “These things will be explained further in a docuseries I’m putting on YouTube shortly…you can learn all that I’ve been battling and

OVERCOMING!! It’s been a rough couple years but getting the right treatment that will help treat this so far incurable disease and I will be back and better than ever NO CAP.”

But because the internet can be a cruel place, people online started downplaying Justin’s diagnosis and joked about it — and some went way over the line by saying Justin “deserves” his Lyme disease diagnosis, which is all kinds of messed up. Naturally, this caused Justin’s wife, Hailey Baldwin, to defend him on Twitter.
