A mourning woman whose fiance died before their wedding, has worn her wedding dress to his grave on the day they were supposed to marry.

Heartbreaking photos show Jessica Padgett kneeling in front of Kendall James Murphy’s headstone on September 29.
Murphy, who was a firefighter for Montgomery, Indiana, was tragically killed in November 2017 when his colleague, Colby Blake, crashed his vehicle into three cars as they responded to a call.

Blake, from Cannelburg, was not injured but he allegedly had a blood alcohol level of .21 per cent which is more than double the legal limit of .08.
In honor of her husband’s memory, Jessica posed for several photos with Murphy’s boots, his tombstone, his firefighting gear and with loved ones.
The photos were taken by Loving Life Photography and shared on Facebook. The post has been shared more than 21,000 times.
A note was attached to the boots that read: ‘Jessica, no matter your path, I’m with you always. Love, your guardian angel, Kendall James’
In one tear-jerking image, Jessica is seen holding Murphy’s boots with his image photoshopped in place beside her.
‘She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. She walked with the Universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings,’ the photographer wrote in the caption of the photo.
The maid of honor and best man both gave speeches before the family lit paper sky lanterns above Murphy’s gravesite.

Murphy, Blake and another firefighter had responded to a crash site along with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department on the night Murphy was killed.
The firefighters had received a call about a driver who was stuck inside his vehicle.
While responding to the scene, Blake rear-ended another truck with his truck and kept going to strike another vehicle.

Murphy had already arrived on the scene in his personal vehicle and parked it. He exited the vehicle and opened the left rear passenger door to retrieve his protective clothing.
As he did so, he was struck by Blake’s vehicle. The 27-year-old died on the scene.
Blake was arrested and charged with causing death when operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of .15 or more.

The case is still not set for trial.
Murphy was a ‘selfless man of God who loved spending time with family and friends’, according to the National Fallen Firefighters Association.
‘He had a true servant’s heart and captivating personality that would light up any room. His wittiness would make anyone laugh and have him making friends in no time. He didn’t know a stranger,’ the association added.

The Murphy and Padgett families attended the National Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland to honor Kendall on October 7.
‘What a emotional, amazing weekend this was! This foundation not only honored my Kendall, but also took us in as family,’ Jessica wrote on Facebook.
‘This wasn’t what we wanted in the end, but at least we know we will never be alone, we have all become one big supporting family [sic]. You will forever be in our hearts #616,’ she added.
Murphy had been with the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department since June 2016.
He was ‘following his father and grandfather’s footsteps’ when he joined the department.
