AnnenMayKantereit (occasionally shortened AMK) are a German rock band founded in Cologne in 2011. Their songs are predominantly performed in German, but the band also occasionally publishes cover songs in English. The three founding members, whose joint surnames make up the band name, formed a band while at school at the Schiller-Gymnasium in Sülz in 2011. Initially, these three, Annen, May and Kantereit, performed as street musicians in Cologne. In 2013, they released their first, self-recorded album, which had a release party in Gebäude 9 in Cologne. They have their own YouTube channel on which they have published their songs.
Four: Oft Gefragt
Garnering over 37M views on its official music video on YouTube. The track was released on the 18th of March, 2016 and is from their EP “Wird schon irgendwie gehen”. It’s the first EP from this young German band on a major label.

The highest achieved chart position has been reached by “Pocahontas” which gained the number as the best result in the weekly music chart – German Top 40 Top Chart and spent 133 weeks on the listing.”Pocahontas” has accumulated 83.7M total views, 427.9K likes, on its official music video on YouTube since the premiere day.
Two: Ausgehen
Ausgehen is German song released on 08 February 2020 as a single off their upcoming album set to be released in March. “Ausgehen ” is well-known music video that took placements in popular top charts, such as Top 100 Germany Music Chart , Top 40 German Songs Chart, and more, peaking at the number 47 spot on the German music Charts and 68 on the Ireland Music Charts. The official music video garnered over 19M views on YouTube.

One: Toms Diner
The group AnnenMayKantereit alongside Giant Rooks covered the song “Tom’s Diner” which was released on the 28th of June, 2019. The cover went viral on TikTok in March 2022, reaching more than 120 million views on TikTok and 45 million streams on Spotify. It garnered over 95M views on its official music video on YouTube. On the Official Singles Chart Top 100 of 25 March 2022 to 31 March 2022, the band achieved their first UK hit when their version of Suzanne Vega’s “Tom’s Diner”, with Giant Rooks, charted at number 63. On the same date, the song was a new entry on the Official Irish Singles Chart Top 50 at number 33. This is Arguably one of their biggest songs ever.
