Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Manassah Jatau, has pleaded with organised private sector to treat the posting of NYSC Batch B Stream 1 corps members with due consideration.

He made this plea at the closing ceremony of the three-week orientation camp held at Amada temporary NYSC camp ground.

The deputy governor who represented Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, said, “I would like to call on corps employers not to reject any corps member posted to them.

“The influence of corps members in the state should be seen as a blessing because of the role they play in developing our dear state.

“Employers must not only accept corps member’s post to their establishment but should also provide basic needs as contained in the provisions of the NYSC Act.

“As a state open to investors and innovations, these young Nigerians should be accepted and given the necessary assistance to add to the growth of Gombe.”

The state coordinator, Mr. David Pwanidi Markson, noted that “NYSC managementplaces priority on equipping corps members with necessary skills for self reliance in order to augment their monthly allowance and enable them to become employers of labour.”

“Corps members are to continue with their various facilitators which will last throughout the duration of service year,” he added.

Gombe NYSC Batch B Stream 1 corps members had a total of 1,695 graduates comprising 901 males and 794 females.
