Ousmane Dembele has fuelled speculation suggesting that he could be leaving Barcelona for Arsenal this summer.
The 21-year-old only moved to Camp Nou in the summer of 2017, with Barca investing €105 million (£93m/$122m) of the record-breaking fee they received from Paris Saint-Germain for Neymar in the talented winger.
Early injury struggles prevented Dembele from making the desired impact in Catalunya, though, as he took longer than anticipated to find his feet.
He did offer glimpses of what he is capable of during the 2017-18 campaign, his efforts proving enough to earn him a place in France’s World Cup squad.
Global glory was secured in Russia, but Dembele once again found himself slipping out of favour as Didier Deschamps shuffled his pack en route to claiming football’s ultimate prize.
A well-earned break is currently being taken in on the back of those efforts, with Dembele yet to return to the fold at Barca.
Transfer speculation continues to rage around him during his absence, with it being suggested that the recent arrival of Malcom at Camp Nou could edge the Frenchman towards the exits.
Arsenal have been mooted as one possible landing spot, and Dembele has done little to curb the speculation after meeting up with a number of current Gunners stars.
Dembele recently took in a dinner date at the home of Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The pair know each other from their time together at Borussia Dortmund, while France international colleague Alexandre Lacazette was also in attendance.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan also made an appearance, along with Gunners new boy Matteo Guendouzi.
A move to north London may have been among the topics up for discussion, with there still plenty of time left for Dembele to make a switch before the summer transfer deadline passes.
