Michael Choroszy, 11, who lived in Wisconsin, US, bravely lost his battle with brain cancer which began 15 months ago.

Doctors told him in August that he was in remission but by late September the boy began to experience daily headaches .

Michael was rushed to the emergency room at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin where he was re-diagnosed with another germ cell tumour.

On December 10, the doctors told his mum, Tammy Wildish, that the cancer was terminal.

Family friend Jennifer Blease, who detailed the youngster’s gruelling treatment on a GoFundMe appeal, broke the news of his death on New Year’s Day.

Michael said he was “doing this fight for his brother”, .

Mikey had six brothers, including Robbie, and three step-siblings.

As part of Make-A-Wish, Michael wanted to visit the Lego Store in neighbouring Minnesota on New Year’s Eve.

“Mikey got his wings and flew home to his brother Robbie,” Tammy wrote on Facebook .

“Mikey passed away at 4.30am on New Year’s Day.”

Ms Blease wrote on the GoFundMe page the boy was the “bravest individual” she had met.
