The defender is keen to hear what Sevilla have to offer him before leaving the Andalusian side for Camp Nou

Barcelona are nearing a move for Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet but Goal understands that the deal is not yet concluded.

The 22-year-old Frenchman enjoyed a fine campaign for the Andalusian side but wanted to wait until the end of the season before considering his future.

Now that the campaign is over, he has still yet to make up his mind over where his future lies, with Manchester United and Real Madrid also linked with a move for him.

Lenglet, who came through the youth ranks of Nancy before moving to Spain, wishes to hear what his current employers have to offer him before completing talks with the Primera Division champions.

Talks with Sevilla started several days ago, but he asked them to be pushed back until the club’s finishing position in the league was confirmed. Joaquin Caparros’ side will finish seventh, meaning they will play in the Europa League next season.

Sources close to the player have revealed that he is frustrated that some sources have suggested a deal has been completed. He is upset because the rumours are false and feels they are disrespectful to Sevilla.

Indeed, his club are eager for him to sign a contract extension that would make him the best-paid player on the team and would increase his release clause to €80 million (£70m/$94m).

In the meantime, he can signed by any team that matches his current €35m (£31m/$42m) clause.
