Kayleigh Rose Amstutz known professionally as Chappell Roan is an American singer and songwriter. She was born in Willard, Missouri on February 19, 1998. Her mother, Kara Amstutz, is a veterinarian; and her father, Dwight Amstutz, manages a family practice in Springfield and is a registered nurse in neurological and burn intensive care units. Chappell Roan is the oldest of four children. She described her hometown
and her upbringing as conservative and Christian and While she was raised Christian, she has said that she no longer identifies with the church and that her current relationship with religion is evolving. Roan was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder when she was 22 years old, a disorder which contributed to her difficult childhood. She has described therapy and medication as being helpful for her. Roan began playing the piano when she was 10 or 11 years old and began taking lessons at the age of 12. Majority of Chappell music is inspired by 1980s synth-pop and early 2000s pop hits and Her aesthetic is heavily influenced by drag queens.

Hot to Go! is a song from Chappell debut studio album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess (2023). It was released through Island Records and Amusement Records on August 11, 2023, as the ninth and final single from the album. Written by Roan and Daniel Nigro, Hot to Go! is a synth-pop track. It has garnered over 320M streams on spotify and over 24M views on it’s Official Music Video on YouTube. This song was inspired by Roan childhood dream of wanting to become a cheerleader.
