The Super Eagles skipper played his part in Al Nassr’s 3-0 victory over Al Adalah on Thursday but that has done little to douse the transfer talks.
Ahmed Musa, who is reportedly in talks with Turkish side Fenerbache to join the Super Liga giants in the coming weeks, was on for 90 minutes as Al Nassr clinched a crucial away win.
First half goals from Amrabat, Giuliano and a Petros strike late in the second half powered Rui Vitoria’s men to the top of the Saudi Arabia Pro League table. The reigning champions have 26 points from 12 games with Ahmed Musa having taken part in seven of those games.
But the former Leicester City forward may be tempted back to Europe by Fenerbahce where he made a huge impact with CSKA Moscow, winning three Russia Premier League titles.
Currently valued at 12 million euros, the 27-year-old has a contract with his Saudi club until 2022, but an initial loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent could see the Nigerian forward move to Turkey soon.
Fenerbahce’s Victor Moses – on loan from Chelsea – and Trabzonspor’s trio of Mikel John Obi, Ogenyi Onazi, and Anthony Nwakaeme already form a strong Nigerian contingent in the Turkish top flight.
Musa is currently the most capped Nigeria international having featured 85 times for the Super Eagles, scoring 15 times.
