Sex during pregnancy can be nervewracking sometimes. You’re worried about the baby and even your health in general.
The good news is that for the most part, sex during pregnancy isn’t harmful to you or your baby. So it’s safe to get it on as much as you want as long as you don’t have any medical concerns or conditions. But does this mean anything goes? Well, you may want to steer clear of these three positions to be safe.
Anything that involves lifting
This is not the time to try positions that involve your man lifting or carrying you. Yes, he may be buff and strong but should you risk it? During pregnancy, you should avoid anything where there’s a risk for a fall, and that includes sex. Stick with slow and gentle sex positions.
Back on the surface
When having sex during pregnancy, especially in the late stages, you may want to avoid sex positions that require you to lie flat on your back for a long time. This can cause you the weight of your uterus can compress a major blood vessel. Blood flow to the baby may be disrupted and you may feel dizzy or nauseated.
Shower sex
Just as it is with lifting, shower sex can be dangerous during pregnancy. When you have sex in the shower, you risk slipping and falling. Also, the further you are along in your pregnancy, the more issues you have with balancing. So you cannot trust your balance at this point and you shouldn’t test it on a slippery surface.
