The Lord of the Rings sequel returns with “The Return of the King” this week grossing over $1.1bn in sales since its release. Here’s what you need to know:
Number One: Mercy
Taking the crown of the number one position is the new thriller/suspense movie called Mercy. It was released by Amazon MGM Studios on the 26th of January 2026. This film, which has grossed over $22,800,00 since the week of its release, was directed by Timur Bekmambetov. The story follows a detective, in the near future, who stands trial accused of murdering his wife. He has 90 minutes to prove his innocence to the advanced A.I.
