This year, like every year, started out easy breezy but as the days go by, life happens, difficulties emerge, not just in our individual lives, but in Nigeria as a country and the world at large.

Because we believe that music makes everything better, and of course, we are in the business of dishing out good music to you people, we have put together 4 songs that will ginger you to live life, have some fun and don’t hold the world too tightly to your chest.

4. I Can’t Kill Myself by Timaya: Produced by Chris Stringz, off the Gratitude album which was recorded in 2020, the chorus of this particular song says it all: this life I can’t kill myself o, allow me to flex o. Judging by the almost 6m views on YouTube and how viral the song went, it’s obvious that the message of the song resonated to so many people.

3. Enjoy by Tekno: Alhaji Tekno never disappoints with his upbeat sing along songs and Enjoy was just the song for a lot of people. It was produced by Blaise Beats and off his Old Romance album of 2020. Garnered over 3.8m views on YouTube as at November last year. The repeated line in this popular jam is ‘allow me to enjoy myself’ so when anyone reminds you of your challenges or responsibilities, just sing that line to them.

BONUS: Peace of Mind by Rema: The popular Dumebi singer, Rema, released this very inspiring and touching song, produced by Kel P in December 2020 and it addresses his personal struggles as well as Nigeria’s. The main line here is I’m looking for some peace of mind and if you live in Nigeria, you definitely understand what this means.

2. No Do by Kizz Daniel: This was Kizz Daniel’s debut song under his new record label, Flyboi Inc, after his exit from G-worldwide Entertainment and this song basically just reminds us of the fact that everyone should just do what they can and not do more than themselves. The popular lines in this song are Peperipe peperipe, no go dey do pass yourself and it definitely rang true to about 7.8m people and more judging from YouTube views. It was produced by PhilKeyz under his 2017 album No Bad Songz.

1. Myself by Basketmouth: This jam is off Yabasi, the soundtrack album for Basketmouth’s web series called Papa Benji, and is a product of the combination of singer Oxlade and rappers Show Dem Camp. When you hear the lines I go do the one wey dey work for me, wey dey work for me, you know say I can’t kill myself o, you know that the song just preaches doing what you as a person can handle and leaving the rest for others to do their part. The song was produced by Ductor Sett and released in November 2020.

There you go guys! Bump to these songs while you go through that life-changing experience this 2021!
