A man accused of killing a homeless man close to the I’m A Celebrity camp has been captured by cops.

The body of the 56-year-old male was discovered by dogwalkers in Tweed Heads, around an hour away from the show’s jungle location, on November 22.

Police launched a manhunt, and the I’m A Celebrity camp was reportedly put on lockdown as cops combed the area.

However, police officers have since made an arrest – capturing Kevin James Pettiford, 34, onboard a bus bound for Sydney.

Pettiford, who is also homeless, was arrested and charged with murder.

He appeared at Tweed Heads Local Court and did not apply for bail. He’s due back in court on January 22.

The homeless man, who has yet to be identified, was found dead in his sleeping bag at Jack Evans Boat Harbour Park in Tweed Heads, where he’s believed to have been sleeping rough.

After the body was first discovered, it was reported that I’m A Celebrity bosses were put on alert.

Sources told The Sun that producers were aware of the manhunt despite the area being over an hour away from the production site.

One said: “The celebs are being watched 24 hours a day, seven days a week by a team of staff and our security measures are incredibly tight.

“But of course it is very unsettling to know that there is someone out there, running from the police, who has committed such a horrible crime
