Anthony Joshua, former world boxing champion, has revealed what he passed through after losing four heavyweight titles to Andy Ruiz in his first career defeat back in June.

The surprising defeat saw the Nigerian-born pugilist surrender his WBO, IBF and WBA and IBO belts to the Mexican-American after the bout was stopped in the seventh round following four knock downs in previous rounds.

‘AJ’ as he is fondly called by fans and admirers will come face-to-face with Ruiz in a rematch slated for Saudi Arabia on Saturday, December 7, as he told Daily Mail that his earlier loss to Ruiz was only a minor setback.

“I think I had to grieve and ask myself all the questions you would expect. “People say “you lost”, I call it a blip. “I can’t wait to get in there and fight him.

Every time I have fought a champion I have risen to the occasion,” he noted. Speaking further, Joshua hinted he is looking forward to change his tactics, insisting this will enable him control the situation better right from the start of the fight.

“I need to start taking this approach to my fights where I’m a bit more lively. “I know I’m capable of it. There is too much at stake. “If I go in there where I’m switched on, a time like the Ruiz fight where I am so relaxed, that might be the difference,” Joshua submitted.
