A young Atlanta native, Chelesa Fearce, has become an example of what it means to be resilient and determined after she moved from being homeless while in high school to being a student at Yale University.
Fearce had studied by the stove light at extended-stay motels during her teen years. She later become a Spelman College graduate and medical researcher.
The 23-year-old student is now studying medicine at Yale University. She hope to earn a degree and PhD.
Chelesa Fearce, has set high goals for herself and she proved this when she scored a 4.6 GPA at Charles Drew High School and became a valedictorian. 
Chelesa is already set for a thriving career and says she wants to become a child psychiatrist.
She plans to go into residency after she graduates from Yale University.
Chelesa noted the challenges that comes with attaining that feat especially because no one in her family has done that to serve as a role model.
However, she indicated that she believes in herself and hopes to be an inspiration for younger children, especially young girls.
