The Shanghai Shenhua striker scored a brace in the highly entertaining fixture that saw Nigeria come from behind to beat Cameroon 3-2 last Saturday.
A Nigerian fan has been trending for the right reason after he walked up to Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, and handed him a £100 note.
The Nigerian who was identified as Ayo Godfather walked up to the striker as he was about to go for a post-match interview and said, “For all you have done for Nigeria, for scoring the two goals that helped get us to the quarter-finals of the AFCON, please accept this token from me. I
know it is not much but it is from the bottom of my heart.”
Ighalo was all smiles and short of words as he posed to take a photo with the appreciative fan.
It would be recalled that Ighalo’s double and a match-winning goal from Alex Iwobi helped Nigeria win the five-goal thriller in Alexandria against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
