Chelsea’s players are said to currently be unhappy with Antonio Conte and his training regime at Stamford Bridge. The Times reports that the players are unhappy that the Italian head coach is yet to change his training habits. The former Juventus man is claimed to have not changed his routines, sticking to the mould that resulted in great success last season, despite the added pressure that comes with competing in the Champions League.
Several injuries have struck the squad, which even forced Conte to name David Luiz in midfield against Roma during Wednesday’s 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Despite the injuries and extra fixtures, training is said to still be as demanding and intensive. The squad reportedly believe that the high intensity of the training this season will play a part in their title defence. Chelsea are already nine points behind leaders Manchester City after losing three out of their opening eight games of the new campaign.
