The beleaguered Bond 25 shooting schedule has reportedly been thrown into further disarray after director Cary Fukunaga ‘went missing for several hours’ so he could play computer games.
The American filmmaker, drafted in as an 11th hour replacement for Danny Boyle, left a meticulously planned shoot in disarray by turning up ‘several hours late’ following an ‘intense’ PlayStation session, The Sun reports. His unexpected absence left a film already blighted by accidents and creative disputes behind schedule, with Fukunaga, 41, prompting further outrage by insisting his production team work over Father’s Day weekend in order to make up for lost time. ‘He turned up three hours late which p***ed everyone off. There was a big bust up because they’re so behind. Many said they were not willing to give up their Father’s Day in return for this film. It’s just doomed.’ The long awaited film, which will be released in 2020, had already suffered a series of setbacks long before filming commenced, with director Danny Boyle initially signing up before leaving the project over disagreements regarding the ‘radical’ direction of his script.
