Former Super Eagles star Emmanuel Amuneke has lost his father, Pa Michael Amuneke who died at the age of 86.
Pa Amuneke died at their family residence in Festac, Lagos after a long battle with an illness.
Amuneke told Pulse Sports that his dad died on Wednesday, April 11 and despite his old age, it was still painful to see him go.
“It’s very painful, but we thank God he lived a long time and lived very well,” the former Flying Eagles star said.
Amuneke, now a coach is the first son of Pa Amuneke.
Funeral plans
Plans are being made to take Pa Amuneke’s remains to their village in Eziokele Community in Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State.
Pa Amuneke is survived by his wife and five sons which include Amuneke and two other former Nigerian players, Kingsley– who played the majority of his career in Belgium and Sweden- and Kevin– who spent his playing time in Portugal.
