Manchester United are prepared to fight Manchester City to land Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez, according to reports.

Manchester United are primed to invest in their squad at the end of the season, with a playmaker on their transfer wish list.

Atletico Madrid star Saul has been linked in the past, with the Spain international long having his admirers over at Old Trafford.

Last month, it was claimed that Manchester City were in pole position to sign the 24-year-old at the end of the campaign.

And ESPN claim United are now ready to go all-out to secure the services of the playmaker. It is said Solskjaer sees him as the ideal player to line up alongside Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic next season.

Samuel Umtiti to stay at Barcelona

Samuel Umtiti is ready to snub Arsenal and stay at Barcelona.

The Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order and now sits behind Clement Lenglet and Gerard Pique at the Nou Camp.

And with Barcelona linked with Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt, Umtiti could get even less playing time next season.

Umtiti wants to stay at the club and fight for his place though, according to Spanish outlet Marca.

David De Gea held talks with PSG

Paris Saint-Germain are desperate to sign a top level goalkeeper and held talks with the representatives of Manchester United star David de Gea in December.

That is according to French reporter Geoffroy Garetier, who revealed all on the negotiations while appearing live on TV on Monday night.

“We think of David de Gea at the end of the contract in June, but Manchester United have activated a clause that extends until 2020,” Garetier said.

“At Paris it is a dream to bring in a very great goalkeeper, even if it’s hard to swallow for the goalkeepers in place, we can understand it, but we have to find the goalkeeper that corresponds.

“The sports director of the PSG, Antero Henrique, met last December with the representatives of David De Gea for his coming to the capital.”

Mateo Kovacic wants permanent Chelsea stay

Mateo Kovacic has no plans to return to Real Madrid and wants to make his move to Chelsea permanent.

But with the club facing a two-window ban he may not be allowed to join.

Kovacic has made 41 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea but has yet to score a goal.

Blues fans may believe they would be better served signing other players should their transfer ban be lifted.

Leeds still chase Daniel James

Leeds are still in contact over a move for Swansea ace Daniel James this summer.

Football Insider claim the Yorkshire side are determined to sign the 21-year-old at the end of the season.

Leeds came very close to completing a deal for James back in January.

The deal fell through at the 11th hour though after he had undergone a medical and agreed personal terms.

Callum Hudson-Odoi ready for Chelsea

Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi is ready to play for the club, according to Cesar Azpilicueta.

He said: “I have no doubt he can make an impact in the Premier League.

“I knew him when he was a kid [in the academy]. To see what he is doing now is amazing. Can he help us in the run-in? Yes, yes, yes.

“I saw him with England, it was a great performance. To show this ability for someone who is 18 is special.”

Alisson reveals Roberto Firmino influence

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has revealed Robert Firmino helped convince him to join the club.

“I spoke to Roberto and others before I came here and they told me about the British and that the people are very organised,” he said.

“He told me how things run in the club and that the emphasis is all about football so there were not too many mysteries.

“It’s a very good life with a very good team. For me it was an important step in my career. We can describe the club as being like a family with some differences as we don’t fight too much – less than a lot of families do and that’s a good thing!”

Gareth Bale not leaving Real Madrid

Gareth Bale has told his entourage he has no plans on leaving Real Madrid in the summer.

The Wales international has once again been linked with the likes of Manchester United following a disappointing season at the Bernabeu.

Tottenham have also been linked with the 29-year-old.

Marca claim Bale does not want to leave Real Madrid and his current contract does not expire until 2022.

Man Utd to demand £155m for Paul Pogba

Manchester United want £155million if Real Madrid are to sign Paul Pogba from them.

And a large amount of that figure would got to the star’s controversial agent Mino Raiola.

The Sun claim Pogba is high on Zinedine Zidane’s wish list as he looks to overhaul his squad after returning to Real Madrid.

Kylian Mbappe and Chelsea winger Eden Hazard are also wanted at the Bernabeu.

Man Utd issued Raphael Varane warning

Real Madrid boss insists Raphael Varane will stay at the Bernabeu and won’t be moving to Manchester United.

“I cannot imagine a future without Varane and I don’t want to,” said Zidane.

“He’s a young player, he has been here for eight years and he is doing very well. I’m not going to comment on what is being said outside.

“The important thing is what the player tells me and for now he’s at the best club in the world, he’s won a lot of things and I think he is in a good place.”

Chelsea want Philippe Coutinho

Chelsea will try and sign Philippe Coutinho with funds they receive for selling Eden Hazard this summer.

That’s according to Sport who claim the Blues want the Barcelona ace if their transfer ban is overturned.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the Brazil international.

Coutinho has struggled to make an impression at Barcelona following his mega money move from Liverpool in January of last year.

Chelsea to battle Arsenal and Man Utd for Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Chelsea will target Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka but only if their transfer ban is scrapped, according to a report.

Manchester United and Arsenal, as well as reigning champions Manchester City, are also set to battle it out for the highly-rated full-back.

Wan-Bissaka burst onto the scene at Palace last season and has since been one of their most consistent performers.

And the Mirror are reporting that Chelsea are keen on securing the 21-year-old’s services.

The transfer ban that FIFA imposed on them, however, could hold them back from pursuing Wan-Bissaka.

Rangers urged to sign Ryan Kent from Liverpool

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been urged to permanently sign Ryan Kent from Liverpool.

“Get him in, he is a fantastic player,” Whelan said.

“He was the best player on the pitch on Sunday – he stood out with his willingness, desire, pace, skill and directness.

“He’s got good feet and is the kind of player you can build your attack around.

“£7million is not a lot of money if you’ve got ambitions to win the league.

“You need to buy top players, and Ryan Kent is certainly one of those.

“In three years he will be worth £12million to £15million, at least.”
