Martin Keown says it is “astonishing” that Arsenal cannot spend money in January as they are currently ranked as “the sixth-wealthiest club in the world”.
Manager Unai Emery revealed that he was only able to sign players on loan this month because the club had no funds for permanent transfers.
And Keown is baffled by the club’s reluctance to allocate money for transfers.
The Gunners legend told talkSPORT: “It’s a very weird situation at Arsenal. For the club to say they’re only allowed to loan players…
“This is the sixth-wealthiest club in the world! And we can’t buy a player in this transfer window?
“I think that’s astonishing!”
