The Plateau Government has offered permanent appointments to 300 ad hoc staff of the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning.

Mr Dagug Fompun, the Chairman of Plateau State Civil Service Commission, made this known in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Jos.

He said that the conversion of the appointment of the 300 officers was in line with the vision of Governor Simon Lalong, which aimed at stimulating workers to give quality service delivery.

He said that the conversion was aimed at filling the vacancies that were hitherto created by the death or retirement of officers in the ministry.

Besides, Fompun said that from January till date, the commission had recruited 66 non-teaching teaching staff for the ministry of education, 55 junior staff for the ministry of finance as well as 34 technical and junior staff for the ministry of housing.

He also said that 27 senior and junior staff had been recruited for the Plateau State Micro-finance Development Agency, while 20 senior and junior workers were recruited for the Bureau of Public Procurement.

He added that the Plateau State Civil Service Commission now had 32 new permanent workers.

Fompun said that at the inception of the Lalong-administration, the ban on employment and promotion was lifted, while the backlog on outstanding promotions was cleared.

He said that 3,264 workers had been promoted from 2015 to date.
