2018 Winter Olympics: Nigeria’s Bobsled Team Averages 78.49s In 2 Heats

Suen, as usual, was the driver for the race while Omeoga was the brakeman.

The Nigerian team of Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere and Akuoma Omeoga averaged a time of 78.49s Women’s Heat 1 & 2 as they officially kicked off their 2018 Winter Olympicscampaign.

After averaging a time of 174.11s in four Women’s Official Training Heats, the Nigerian Bobsled were in action on Tuesday, February 20 for Women’s Heat 1 and 2.

Suen, as usual, was the driver for the race while Omeoga was the brakeman and they finished 20th in the two 20-woman Heats.

Heat 1

With Start Order 5 and Bib no. 5, Nigeria finished in a time of 52.21s in Heat 1. They were 1.69s behind team USA, the winner of the Heat.

They finished the Start in 17th position in a time of 5.54s and remained in that position after Split 1 with a time of 15.35.

It took them 24.33s to finish Split 2 in 19th position.  They fell to 20th after Split 3 in 34.67s and remained there after Split 4 (41.18s) and Finish (52.21s).

Heat 2

For Heat 2, the Nigerian Bobsled team finished in a time of 52.55s, 1.83s behind the winners, Team Germany.

They finished Start in a time of 5.54s in 15th place and were 17th after Split 1 with a time of 15.37s. After Split 2, they were 20th with a time of 24.45 and remained there after Split 3 (34.88), Split 4 (41.44) and Finish (52.22s).
