The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commended the likes of 2Face Idibia and other musicians for their role in encouraging the youths to be a part of the electoral process.
According to the commission, the general elections set to take place this year will be for the youths who constitute 81 percent of registered voters.
The Commissions chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu said this during an election summit for youths in Abuja on Tuesday, January 29, 2019.
During the summit, popular musicians were awarded for their role in the mobilization of youths to register for their Personal Voters Card which would allow them vote in the coming elections.
Among those honoured at the event was Innocent Idibia (Tuface) and Ambassador Ketil Karlson, Head of European Union to Nigeria and ECOWAS.
The INEC boss also urged these musicians who are role models to these youths, to continue the good work of urging the youths of collect their PVC.
