2019: INEC Registers 2,454,200 Voters In Plateau

THE Independent National Electoral Commission says it has registered a total of 2,454,200 voters in Plateau State ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The electoral body said the figure was more than the number registered in the state during the 2015 elections.

Mr Osaretin Imahiyereobo, Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity in the state disclosed this in a statement in Jos on Tuesday.

Imahiyereobo said, “The total registered voters in Plateau State now stands at 2,454,200. The total registered voters for 2015 elections was 2,003,046.

Imahiyereobo explained that the Commission recently took delivery of another batch of 326,889 Permanent Voter Cards bringing the number received by the state to 451,154 for those who registered between April 2017 to August 31, 2018.

He said, ”The state had earlier received 124,265 PVCs earlier in the year. The total PVCs collected so far by the registered as of November 16, is 114,443 out of 255,306 leaving a balance of 140,863.

The INEC official urged those who registered and had not collected their PVCs to visit the nearest Local Government Area office to do so.
